My First Blog Post!
Hello!
For whatever reason, you have chosen to visit this site. For that, I am very grateful.
In any case, I'm Lucas Bachmann. I'm Swiss born, and twenty-something of age. I've lived in many places, including China, Ireland and the UK. I enjoy singing, gaming, and ******* ****** my ****. Here's an image of me:

Anyways, more about me.
Why have a website?
Some of my biggest interests includes Mathematics and Computer Science. So much so that I've gotten a university degree in them. I'm also a big believer in education. And, while I could spend my days answering Stack Overflow questions (for which I don't have enough snark for), having my own website gives me more control on how I get to share answers and knowledge.
More importantly, since graduating, I've been searching for a job in the tech sector, with mostly negative results. I've been changing my approach over and over again, without much success, and I think this is partially due to the fact that I've not given the recruiters enough evidence of my tech proficiency. So, since many application forms have an additional 'website' field, I decided to make something that'll work.
Finally, I made a website because I wanted to. I like learning, and this is another opportunity to learn web stuff.
What's this website for then?
Well, as of this first post, there isn't much on this website at all, just a blog and some social media links of accounts I rarely use. I'll add more over time, although it will be to my whim. In any case, some of the things I have planned is:
- Weekly Blog Post
- Project Portfolio
- User Interaction (still iffy on, I don't want to handle people's passwords)
And possibly more.
As for what kinds of blog posts, it will generally be whatever I want to talk about. Whether it be something I've learned in the previous week, or a problem I really like, my goal is to create articles that can be easily digested by some audience. Of course, I can't promise good quality writing (I can barely speak and write as is), but I will try. I might even not have much to share, and so I'll just use this to rant or explore some random topic that caught my interest. I'm in charge after all.
Also, this page has \(\LaTeX\) via MathJax, so I can do things like \(\pi z^2 a\) (which is cool).
So, if any of this interests you, cool. I don't have a mailing list, so... come back soon, I guess.
